Such an interesting garden plant! The pretty flower heads “nod off” and face the ground upon blooming.
This is a native member of the allium group, and a tasty edible as well! It is nice for well maintained garden-beds, however as it continues to size up over the years, it can become more and more independent and grow amongst a lot of competition.
Nodding onion seems to be a great candidate for a cold hardy green onion for cold frames and winter greenhouses.
